Now is the time to get our houses in order and clear out our minds and hearts. Many of us began doing this a while back. However, this is where the rubber meets the road, as the saying goes. What we have done so far will be put to the test. We are all going to be called to manifest our visions into reality and see what really works, as oppose to what sounded good in words or looked good on paper.  I have found that the New Moon is a useful time to make changes and

to visualize the changes I would still like to create. I do this by writing down what it is I wish to manifest. I write everything in the present tense (as if it is already happening) using positive language and/ or I begin with the phrase “For as long as I can remember, I have always….” I try to be specific without imposing too many parameters. Occasionally, I may specify a period of time by indicating that something is happening within so many weeks or months. For example: “By the end of _____ I have the clarity and information required to make such and such decision.” I try to phase my sentences in such a way that avoids use of words such as “no,” “not,” “need” or “want.” Instead, I visualize attracting that which is in the highest and best good for both my family and myself.

Even if you don’t have an astrological calendar, it is easy to determine the timing of a New Moon. Nearly every ordinary calendar has a series of circles appearing throughout the month at approximately weekly intervals. Look on your calendar for the circle that is completely colored in, so that it looks like a large solid dot. Every month that large solid dot may move a few days or so, but will usually appear at regular intervals of about 28 to 30 days.

We can look to the Native American names for the Full Moons in order to gain insight into how to focus our energy on a New Moon by following the rhythms of nature and the changes of seasons. Farmersalmanac.com and Wikipedia have detailed information on these Full Moons. I will simply list their names:

January                      Wolf Moon

February                    Snow Moon

March                         Worm Moon (Lenten Moon in English tradition)

April                            Pink Moon (Egg Moon in English tradition)

May                            Flower Moon (Milk Moon in English tradition)

June                           Strawberry Moon

July                             Buck or Thunder Moon

August                        Red or Sturgeon Moon

September                Harvest or Corn Moon

October                      Hunter’s Moon (Harvest Moon in English tradition)

November                  Beaver Moon (Hunter’s Moon in English tradition)

December                  Cold Moon

I recommend looking to the Full Moon during meditation for cues on how to move forward with the changes we desire and the things we write down at the time of the New Moon. The information we receive at the Full Moon will also help us refine what we are writing at the next New Moon. Hopefully, by the end of the year, you will be seeing something you clearly wished to manifest in your life. In this way we can help direct some of the outcomes we desire in our lives, rather than simply being swept up by the changes going on around us.
